Health Psychology & Behavioural Medicine
Health Psychology is at the intersection of our well being. It comes from our Psychological, Biological (or Physical) and Social well being. Health psychology plays an important role in understanding how behaviors, thoughts, and emotions impact our mental and physical health. With this knowledge, we can help you modify psychological and behavioral factors that enhance or undermine your health. We also provide interventions that will reduce disease risk, improve treatment outcomes, and improve the quality of life of people coping with illness or seeking to prevent illness.
We work with individuals wanting to improve their physical health as well as with individuals struggling with a wide range of medical issues, illnesses and chronic disease. From pregnancy and birth related challenges, to gastrointestinal issues (IBS, IBD, Crohn’s and Colitis), to changing health behaviours (eg. smoking cessation, alcohol reduction, exercise increase), to coping and living with cancer we have a wide range of expertise in the Health Psychology field.
